PLAYING RULES
GAME INFORMATION
The Youth/ Women's Volleyball League will be governed by Rockwall Indoor Sports Expo (RISE). Rule modifications will only be made before the beginning of the session. However, RISE reserves the right to change or modify any rule that is deemed non-applicable or does not benefit the league and its players.
Games times are always at the discretion of RISE.
Divisions will be made up of players of the same age.
Winner of coin flip will have choice of serving first or side of court.
Each team will have an unlimited number of substitutions per game. The server can not be substituted at any time.
Rally scoring will be used (point after every side out).
Each match will consist of best two out of three games; first two games to 25 points; last game to 15; win by 2; no cap.
If third game required, coin flip will decide service or receive.
Two (2) timeouts per game.
Net height will be 7 feet.
A team beginning a match with a valid number of players, but through injury loses one or more players and does not have substitute players, may continue playing the match with all remaining players.
ROSTERS
Team roster minimum - 6; maximum - 12.
All rosters frozen after third game of the season. No roster additions allowed after this time.
Each player is allowed to play only on one team in each division.
All roster changes must be made using an add/delete form. Add/delete forms and rosters are located at the front desk.
UNIFORMS
All roster players' uniforms must be of the same color.
OFFICIATING
RISE will supply one Referee for each match.
The Referee will decide to use volunteer line judges before each match.
All calls and rulings made by the Referee are Final. No protests allowed.
The team captain, coach, or designated floor captain may be the only one to converse with the Referee.
FORFEITS
Your team will forfeit if:
Any player or team that has not paid the required fees by the first game of the season must forfeit each game until all fees are paid.
A non-registered /ineligible player participates in a game.
Two unsportsmanlike conducts are assessed to your team in a single match
A five minute grace period from game time will be allowed to field a team.
Each team must have six (6) properly uniformed players to start a game.
Exception:
Team(s) may begin the game with a minimum of four (4) properly uniformed players.
To enter a late arriving player(s), that team will be charged with a sideout/loss of rally. The late arriving player must check in with the scorekeeper. Play will resume from the same serving order.
NOTE: The rotation with the missing player will count as a sideout/loss of rally and point will be assessed to opposing team
DISCIPLINE
Player yellow card - Player will be suspended from current game and next scheduled game.
Coach/Bench fouls - Any combination of two (2) yellows and/or one (1) red card assessed during the season - Coach will be removed from league.
Two (2) yellow cards - Forfeiture of game.
Illegal player (non-registered) - Forfeiture of all games player participated.
Fighting - Individual(s) will be dismissed from the league for remainder of season.
PLAYOFFS
Any rostered players who play one (1) or more regular season games are eligible for the playoffs.
All games in playoffs will follow same rules and regulations as in the regular season.
Playoffs are to be determined by final league standings.
All teams will be seeded according to regular season record, i.e. First place team - #1 seed; second place - # 2 seed, etc.
Tiebreakers: 1. Head to head - winner will get better seed; 2. Point differential in head to head games played - better seed to high point; 3. Coin flip.
Winner of tournament will be considered Champion of the league for that playing season.
